Visiting Asia

Singapore is a very popular destination for both business travellers and tourists and in recent years, the city has seen a lot of improvement and has made itself very popular with international visitors. Singapore is constantly evolving and below a look at 5 reasons why you should visit Singapore in the future.

1. Conferences, Fairs and Events

Singapore is already a hub for many important international conferences and exhibitions, with the development of the Singapore Expo, Suntec City and other well equipped conference centers. In the future, this trend will definitely grow, with the Singapore government already planning the development of the Marina Bay Sands, which is a project that will change the way people think of conference centers.

2. Business in Singapore

Many important companies have offices in Singapore, as the country functions as an effective link between the west and other Asian countries, which makes it convenient for corporations to open here. Many visitors to this city come to the city on business, while a good number of people travel to Singapore to work, whether it is on a short term or long term basis.

3. Leisure Holidays

Singapore is a great destination for people looking to take a holiday. In the future, there will be several attractions in the city like the Resorts World at Sentosa, better transport facilities and a number of exciting new ventures that are in the offing for the city of Singapore. Visitors will be able to enjoy every kind of luxury and entertainment activity available anywhere in the world in Singapore.

4. Shopping

There are hundreds of new stores and dozens of malls around the city that make it convenient to get anything from handmade goods to the most expensive luxury items in Singapore. The city is also well connected, making it possible to conduct different kinds of shopping expeditions in a single day. Some of the best places to shop in Singapore include Orchard Road and Bugis. Little India and China Town in Singapore are also good locations to shop.

5. Art and Culture

In the recent years Singapore has made a big effort to revive the cultural activities of various communities that have settled in the country. There is also a great emphasis on promoting different art forms, including those that have been dying in other places around the world. In the future, the city will see several art exhibitions and cultural events in its many museums.

Exhibitions in Singapore

Singapore is a country which has a very interesting location in terms of world and international exhibitions, with Singapore ideally located between Australia/NZ, Europe and Asia. Singapore is more practical than Australia for European exhibition organisers and exhibitors and still very practical for Asia and European visitors or exhibitions, making this a perfect location in many respects as opposed to less central places.

The main venue in Singapore is the SUNTEC Singapore International Exhibition and Conference Centre’ and this venue has excellent facilities and is a nice place to attend an exhibition.

The SUNTEC venue holds a number of international and large exhibitions and shows such as the PC ShowGifts and Premium Fair and the Singapore International Jewellery Show. One of the things which stands out immediately when exhibiting here is just how polite people are. As an exhibition organiser it is great to experience the desire of the staff to help and willingness to do anything to make one happy.

The venue covers over one hundred thousand square meters and this means that the exhibition halls can accommodate up to a total of ten thousand visitors. The thing that I like most about the venue is that like most places in Singapore, the venue is very central and thus close to the hotels, restaurants and getting to and from the venue is straight forward.
